Brad and Jessie's Wedding

I had so much fun flying to Houston for Brad and Jessie's wedding! It was fun being above the clouds. I ate pizza and drank pop. Doesn't that sound healthy!

I was one of eight flower girls. I loved my dress. Everyone said I was beautiful! I did a great job walking down the aisle. When I got to the front of the church I gave my daddy a hug and a kiss.

The wedding ceremony was AWESOME. Uncle Bradley just sobbed when he saw Jessie for the first time. The are a cute looking couple. I love you Bradley and Jessie.
At the reception I danced and danced. I got mad because everyone was doing the chicken dance the wrong way. I sat down on the dance floor and crossed my arms. I was so mad!
I loved the wedding cake, it was so YUMMY! I wanted more cake so I could just eat the frosting!
I lined up to catch the bouquet, but some twenty year old girl caught it. Doesn't she know that the youngest girl there is suppose to get it!
It was a great time, other than the hot hot temperature of 103. TOO HOT!!!

Carnival

Mommy and Daddy took me to the carnival! I LOVE the carnival. Mommy and Daddy don't like it so much though! I got to ride all the little kiddie rides over and over again. I got to eat cotton candy and popcorn! Yummy!

Fun at Acres of Fun

I had a blast playing at Acres of Fun! I am a great bowler like Grandpa Mari.

I also liked watching the people skate at the rink. I want to learn to skate, too!

July 4th Parade

I went to our 4th of July parade! I had so much fun! I got over 300 pieces of candy! (Yes, Mommy counted because she was so curious.) I think my neighbor girls gave me at least 100 of those pieces.

A.W. Tozer Prayer

O Lord, I have heard Your voice and was afraid. You have called me to an awesome task in a grave and
perilous hour. You are about to shake all nations and the earth and also heaven, that the things that cannot
be shaken may remain. O Lord, my Lord, You have stooped to honor me to be Your servant. No man takes
this honor upon himself save he that is called of God as was Aaron. You have ordained me Your messenger
to them that are stubborn of heart and hard of hearing. They have rejected You, the Master, and it is not to
be expected that they will receive me, the servant.
My God, I shall not waste time deploring my weakness nor my unfittedness for the work. The
responsibility is not mine, but Yours. You have said, “I knew you - I ordained you - I sanctified you,” and
You have also said, “You shall go to all that I shall send you, and whatsoever I command you, you shall
speak.” Who am I to argue with You or to call into question Your sovereign choice? The decision is not
mine but Yours. So be it, Lord. Your will, not mine, be done.
Well do I know, God of the prophets and the apostles, that as long as I honor You, You will honor me.
Help me therefore to take this solemn vow to honor You in all my future life and labors, whether by gain or
by loss, by life or by death, and then to keep that vow unbroken while I live.
It is time, O God, for You to work, for the enemy has entered into Your pastures and the sheep are torn and
scattered. And false shepherds abound who deny the danger and laugh at the perils which surround Your
flock. The sheep are deceived by these hirelings and follow them with touching loyalty while the wolf
closes in to kill and destroy. I beg You, give me sharp eyes to detect the presence of the enemy; give me
understanding to see and courage to report what I see faithfully. Make my voice so like Your own that even
the sick sheep will recognize it and follow You.
Lord Jesus, I come to You for spiritual preparation. Lay Your hand upon me. Anoint me with the oil of the
New Testament prophet. Forbid that I should become a religious scribe and thus lose my prophetic calling.
Save me from the curse that lies dark across the modern clergy, the curse of compromise, of imitation, of
professionalism. Save me from the error of judging a church by its size, its popularity or the amount of its
yearly offering. Help me to remember that I am a prophet - not a promoter, not a religious manager, but a
prophet. Let me never become a slave to crowds. Heal my soul of carnal ambitions and deliver me from the
itch for publicity. Save me from bondage to things. Let me not waste my days puttering around the house.
Lay Your terror upon me, O God, and drive me to the place of prayer where I may wrestle with
principalities and powers and the rulers of the darkness of this world. Deliver me from overeating and late
sleeping. Teach me self-discipline that I may be a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
I accept hard work and small rewards in this life. I ask for no easy place. I shall try to be blind to the little
ways that could make life easier. If others seek the smoother path I shall try to take the hard way without
judging them too harshly. I shall expect opposition and try to take it quietly when it comes. Or if, as
sometimes it falls out to Your servants, I should have grateful gifts pressed upon me by Your kindly
people, stand by me then and save me from the blight that often follows. Teach me to use whatever I
receive in such manner that will not injure my soul nor diminish my spiritual power. And if in Your
permissive providence honor should come to me from Your church, let me not forget in that hour that I am
unworthy of the least of Your mercies, and that if men knew me as intimately as I know myself they would
withhold their honors or bestow them upon others more worthy to receive them.
And now, O Lord of heaven and earth, I consecrate my remaining days to You; let them be many or few, as
You wilt. Let me stand before the great or minister to the poor and lowly; that choice is not mine, and I
would not influence it if I could. I am Your servant to do Your will, and that will is sweeter to me than
position or riches or fame and I choose it above all things on earth or in heaven.
Though I am chosen of You and honored by a high and holy calling, let me never forget that I am but a
man of dust and ashes, a man with all the natural faults and passions that plague the race of men. I pray
You, therefore, my Lord and Redeemer, save me from myself and from all the injuries I may do myself
while trying to be a blessing to others. Fill me with Your power by the Holy Spirit, and I will go in Your
strength and tell of Your righteousness, even Yours only. I will spread abroad the message of redeeming
love while my normal powers endure.
Then, dear Lord, when I am old and weary and too tired to go on, have a place ready for me above, and
make me to be numbered with Your saints in glory everlasting. Amen. AMEN.

Tour De Burg

Another great race but low turn out. Hotter than the day before and more spectators to watch us try and beat the odds against Texas Roadhouse. I didn't want to race today but I know it will help for races to come. Paul Martin got away with Andy Moskal and I couldn't go with Kirk Albers. I should have tried but then again that was mentally. I didn't have anything for the sprint and Dave, myself and Andy finished 7-9. Good day against Texas but we didn't have enough numbers.

Troy

Hot race and Hot temps. Low turn out at the race and was a great event one that everyone should have been too. I stayed calm the first part of the race and waited for a while. I timed it just right and had some help by RGF Teammates in the end after Chad, Puffer and I lapped the field. I knew I felt tired in the end so I had my teammates help pull the field and I also pulled the field as I did not want anyone to catch us. Dan Quinlin and Kirk Albers were in the straight away only 14 sec behind us. Awesome save by Puffer as he clipped out of his pedal in the 180 turn around the center of Troy and still got 2nd in the sprint to Chad as I also beat the field for 3rd. Long 50 mile race wore me out.

Time out

Father,
I have been spending so much time thinking about things and little time listening. God I am so very sorry for not spending time with you. I am so greatful for Jim, family and friends to help me go through this life here on earth. Father you are so awesome in everyway yet I don't take the time to ask you for anything. Lord I ask you now to help me focus on you more and that I spend more time with you praying. I am so thankful that you love us no matter how much wasted time I spend on things that don't matter. I will try harder to spend more time with you Lord. I love you Lord and I pray that I take more time to pray to you Father. Time seems to fly by and I can't do anything about the past but I sure can do something now and for the time that you allow in the future. Amen.

Chapel Race

I always love to do this race because of the fellowship time I spend with my friend Jim. God has put Jim in my life to help me stay focused on what God wants from all of us. God wants our love... He wants us to spend time with Him. Jim made it clear that I need to do that more, and Jim is 100% right. We can never spend enough time with God.

Any way the race was going good and I was in a 4 man break until I started thinking again. I jumped up to the lapped riders thinking they would grab my wheel. They let me go and Shawn and I Time Trialed the rest of the race. What was I thinking? Anyway first race with the new shoes and they are totally AWESOME!!!

Josh Hamilton

I wanted to post something about this guy cause he has a very miraculous story. I also believe it is a God thing that made him who he is today. Thank you Lord! After Josh lost the Home Run derby last night he may have won others to Christ after he said that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. Way to go Josh I will be praying for God to keep you focused on Him and what He wants you to do next.

Josh Hamilton's Personal life

Family
Josh Hamilton is married to Katie (nee Chadwick), the daughter of one of the men (Michael Chadwick) who helped him in his quest to get clean. They started dating in 2002, when Hamilton returned to Raleigh.[24] They married in 2004.[33] Katie has a daughter, Julia from a previous relationship, and together Josh and Katie have a daughter, Sierra. They went through a period of estrangement when it became clear that Josh was using drugs again. After he got clean in 2005, he began seeing his family again. The couple is currently expecting another child.[24]

Recovery/Faith
Hamilton's struggles with drugs and alcohol are well documented. He finally got clean after being confronted by his grandmother, Mary Holt. Hamilton says he hasn't used drugs or alcohol since October 6, 2005.[1] When giving a brief summary of his recovery Hamilton says simply "It's a God thing."[20] He does not shy away from telling his story, speaking to community groups and fans at many different functions. He frequently and publicly tells stories of how Christianity has brought him back from the brink and that faith is what keeps him going.[33] His wife Katie sometimes accompanies him, offering her perspective on his struggles as well.[24] To go along with the provisions of MLB's drug policy, Hamilton provides urine samples for drug testing at least three times per week.[34] Rangers' coach Johnny Narron says of the frequent testing: "I think he looks forward to the tests. He knows he's an addict. He knows he has to be accountable. He looks at those tests as a way to reassure people around him who had faith."[33] Hamilton approaches the plate at Texas Rangers home games to the song "Saved The Day" by Christian group Phillips, Craig & Dean.[35]

Jesus My Lord and Savior

I thank God for the people that have been in my life. I have had a positive life knowing that God is always with me. I was not focused on God as much as I wanted to be in the past and to this day. I feel like I am moving in the right direction though which is positive. If I wouldn't have had such wonderful Christian influences in my life I don't even want to think where I would be at now. So many people have not had this growing up. As a matter my opinion it has been just the opposite and people think they can do things on there own. I will be brash and say No Way you can do things without Jesus Christ. You may have had great things happen to you but, that is just things, not Eternity. I posted a poll on the side please vote. I have yet to come across what I would call an enemy. I have felt like I could be friends with anyone I have passed ways with. I have had enemies become friends as well and I have seen change in them and in me. I have done things like celebrated to much after winning a race and look at that race and say why did I do that. I would like to spend eternity with you what will you decide?

Church

I did manage to get to Church which I have needed to do for a long time. I seems like satan is trying to grab a hold of me in everyway. Satan would love to run me down. It seems like I am praying everyday for God to yield Satan away from me. I have some problems that I ask God to help me with daily and I have got some answers back thanks to a book I try and read more everyday. The Bible has everything you need in it to survive struggles in your life. I found some scirptures that went directly to my problems thanks to another book I have been looking over for the 3rd time and still haven't finished it yet. So pray that I can meet with someone at the Church weekly to help me get the fellowship I need to Strengthen my walk with God durning these next two months of cycling. I really can't wait till cycling is done this year. I have put a lot of goals on for this year and due to me not being focused on God has hurt my life in everyway. Thanks for everyone that has been around me supporting me I will continue to fight the fight and still go to these last two months of racing if it is the Lord's will. I keep getting direct answers to my prayers to continue to race but I am always listening to what He wants me to do. Church is where it is at to help you stay focused each and everyday. I thank the Lord for ministers in my life to help me stay focused on God.

Cycling

About the Sport

Types of races
Bicycle road races include multi-day stage races such as the famous Tour de France to Criteriums, which are races based on a circuit - usually less than a mile in length - and run for a set period of time. Criteriums, like the Priority Health Grand Cycling Classic, are the most popular form of road racing in North America. Typically the race runs through a closed-off city center.

Professional vs. amateur - what the rankings mean:Cyclists are ranked through the U.S. Cycling Federation (USCF) based on race results calculated using the USCF Results and Rankings Program. "Category 1" refers to professional cyclists, and Categories 2 through 5 are amateur rankings. Masters cyclists are age 35 and above. For a complete explanation, see www.usacycling.org.

Watching the race:
The Priority Health Grand Cycling Classic is a criterium: Cyclists will circle a looped race for a set period of time. The cyclist who rides the longest distance during the specified time wins the race. Competition requires technical skills - especially the ability to take corners quickly and sharply, and riding safely with a large group in order to avoid crashing. In most Criteriums, cyclists reach speeds of up to 40 mph.

Cycling terminology:Like most sports, cycling has its own lingo. Here's a list of common terms to help you understand the race.

Attack. A sudden attempt to get away from another rider.

Blocking. When a rider tries to get in other riders' way. This is a part of a team strategy to slow down other cyclists to allow other team members to get ahead in a breakaway.

Bridge the Gap. When a rider - or group of riders - tries to reach a group farther ahead.

Breakaway. When a group of riders get ahead of the pack (or peloton)

Cadence. Pedaling rate.

Chasers. Riders who are attempting to "bridge the gap" in attempting to catch the lead group.

Circuit. A track that is ridden more than one time during a race.

Criterium. A bike race in which cyclists ride on a circuit for a specified length of time or distance.

Drafting. Riding closely behind another rider in order to get into their slipstream. The lead rider expends up to 30 percent more energy than the following rider.

Drop. Getting left behind or losing contact with the group of riders.

Field. The main group of riders - also called the pack or peloton.

Force the Pace. When a rider goes harder than the rest of the pack to increase the pace.

Gap. The distance between groups or individuals.

Hammering. Steady, strenuous pedaling.

Hook. When riders use their wheels to hit rider(s) behind them - may be intentional or accidental.

Jump. A sudden acceleration, most often at the start of a sprint.

Kick. The final burst of speed in a race.

Mass Start. When all racers begin at the same time.

Pack. The main group of riders - also called the. field or peloton.

Peloton. The main group of racers - also called the field or the pack.

Prime (pronounced "preem"). This "race within a race" gives cyclists the chance to win a prize for being the first to complete a specific lap.

Slipstream. The air pocket created by a moving rider. Other riders "draft" in the slipstream to conserve energy.

Sprint. A burst of speed to finish the race - usually involving more than one rider.

Take a flyer. When a rider heads out in front of the pack, usually alone.

Masters Nationals

Today's race was hot! We only had 39 starters and 23 finished. Our time was slower than than 35-39 group and I wish I would have stayed in the field the whole race. I felt great all day and just didn't leave enough for the end. I did end up missing the wrecks for the day which is always a plus. I pray for more patience in my races to come and more confidence in the strength God has giving me as I caught every break attempt with ease. Thank you Lord for the power you have giving me and the ability to ride a bike. Thanks to my family and RGF Solutions for allowing me to race.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park Blast Criterium Race 2009.
Mark the Date
Saturday, June 27, 2009
LOCATION: Cincinnati Ohio
www.hpblast.com

What 2008 Hyde Park Blast Pro Mens Criterium Champion Jeremy Grimm from RGF Solutions had to say about the 2008 Hyde Park Blast.

"Hyde Park is my favorite race. I have done the Athens Pro 1 Twilight Race, Sommerville Pro 1 race, and many other NRC Pro races. Snake Alley Pro Race in Iowa was my recent favorite race and now Hyde Park is number 1! The spectators on the last lap made me get chills as they were cheering us on. Thanks to everyone in Hyde Park and everyone that made this race possible. I thank God and my savior Jesus Christ everyday for the ability to ride a bike. "

2008 Highlights and Race Recap

Record crowd for this years event. Police estimates had the crowd in excess of 3,000 people lining the 8/10 of a mile course.
Hyde Park Blast Criterium course continues its legacy of selection, safety and long lines of anaerobic racers.
Record turnout of 189 competitors.
23 Juniors competing in 3 categories from 10-16 years of age
Thunder and lightning in the womens finish
Largest Category 4 and 5 fields ever!!!

Pro 1-2 event dominated by RGF Solutions

The course for the Hyde Park Blast is unlike any other you will find. Tight technical turns, long straight-aways, climbing and descending. Shady Lane implies anything but its name to the cyclists who ascend this short climb.

True to history, this year the course was on form. Only the riders strong enough to survive all the anaerobic challenges would find themselves among the selection of few to contest a podium spot at the 2008 Hyde Park Blast Criterium.

JR racing was in full force this year. Red Zone Cycling from Lousiville, KY was well represented bringing riders in all three Jr Age groups. Mother Nature provided some challenges, but the Jr's were not to be denied. Ian McShane, John Francisco and Daniel Bush from Red Zone Cycling firmly placed themselves on top of the podium for their age groups.

Enacting its control, the course made short order of the fields in the large Category 4 and Category 5 Races. Each race saw numerous cyclists unable to bridge the many challenges throughout. Both categories saw hotly contested sprints. Category 5 top podium spot was reserved for Philip Bailey. Category 4 saw Darkhorse - RPC Mechanical place two podium spots with Matt Bell taking first and Alex Hasse 3rd.

The womens category had added incentive for a fast pace with mother nature providing thunder and lighting as Kristina Heath representing Indiana University sprinted away from the group to take the top podium spot followed by Sonia Chambers from Huntington, W.VA and Callie Burt, Pedal the Planet/CES, from Lexington, KY.

Category 3 had its share of drama. Ryan Good from the Abundance Investor Team made a strong move from the field and seemed poised for a possible breakway victory only to have the tight technical turn around Hyde Park Square neutralize his effort. The door then opened for Mike Purvis from the Compangeiro Racing Team in Louisville, KY to make his move from the pack. With Purvis dangling within sight, a ramped-up peleton began the chase only to fall meters short at the line as Purvis took the top podium spot. Rounding out the Cat 3 podium were David Schweer, Speedway Wheelmen, from Indianapolis, IN and Dan Green, Trizilla, from Pittsburgh, PA.

As the sun went down and the course lights came on, the premier race began, and the top contenders in the PRO 1 - 2 race took to the course. This race had all the makings of a two team battle with the "big guns" from RGF Solutions and the local team from Huntington Bank bringing most of their arsenal of riders. The rest of the field could only hope to capitalize on this battle with opportunistic racing. As expected RGF sent a strong rider, Jeremy Grimm, off the front in the first lap. He dropped the hammer and held nearly 30 mph for several laps. John Murdock of Huntington threw down some great efforts, but they were no match for the steady pace of Grimm and his pesky teammates who refused to pull through after Murdock's great efforts. The youngsters from One Call Now, Anderson and Allen both tried their hand as well, but their efforts were futile in the face of the pounding pace of Grimm's fierce pedal strokes. Finally with a few laps to go Dan Campbell (recent runner-up in the Tour of Ohio) and Andrew Clark (2007 Ohio Time Trial & Criterium Champion), both of RGF Solutions, threw down a huge attack trying to steal the Podium for RGF. Eric Knight of Huntington Bank was successful in bridging to Andrew Clark only to relinquish his chances for 3rd with a gentlemanly handshake acknowledging a great effort and indeed RGF did go 1,2, 3, and the podium was complete.
Jeremy Grimm 1st, Dan Campbell 2nd, and Andrew Clark 3rd. Knight took a respectable 4th and Ben Weaver, Nuvo Cultural Trail, Columbus, IN took the field sprint for 5th.

Mommy and Daddy agree that these are the best professional pictures they have had taken of me! Just call me Supermodel Caylin! I was striking a pose! The photographers are Scott and Tina Ferrell of Orrville. Their website is http://www.capturedmemoriesphotography.zenfolio.com/

Summer = Pool Time

I go swimming almost everyday with Mommy. Sometimes my friends are there, too. Mommy says I am becoming a little fish. I am brave and put my face in the water and I can go under the mushroom. I can swim with my floaties on.

I like it when both Mommy and Daddy can take me. This past Sunday we all got to go swimming together as a family for my birthday.

Tuckered Out!

I had fun swimming today. I was too tuckered out to play with my toys after I swam all day! I fell asleep in my toy room I put my princess lunch bag under my head and covered up with a blanket. I slept for almost 2 hours like this.

Mt.Vernon

After a hard weekend and my legs not feeling the best going into that weekend I decided to race at the first race of the Tour Of Ohio, since no races will be going on around here. I rode to work the day of the race and in the morning my legs felt horrible. When I rode home they felt alot better. I thought maybe I have a chance to do good if I am in a break. Tyler told all the riders that everyone will get the same time if they don't finish.

Great now I knew it would be hard to get to the front since I was the last person to sign up. Gaps opened up everywhere and riders were quiting the first 2 laps into the race. It made it very hard to bridge every gap but I managed to do so. I had no idea I was on the front for 3 laps until I started to real back in the leader and saw the pace car for the first time that day. I tried to jump once after that but it was to late by the time I slowed up the attacks started and 4 riders got away thanks to my pulls for 4 laps. Now maybe I will feel good for Grandview.

The crowd was awesome!!!! Just like the Athens Twilight for one lap.

Tour of Ohio

Dan Cambell is the Overall GC leader of the Tour of Ohio! Great Job Dan!!!!!!!

I wonder what He Thinks?

Well Friday after work My family and I traveled in traffic through Columbus and through a down pour and lightning strikes! Well that wasn't the last time I saw Lightning. I had to race with them all weekend, PA Lightning. A team from the eastern part of PA, according to another team that said they were from the Pittsburg area and made sure everyone knew they were not that team (PA Lightning). Anyway I wasn't the last racer to get ready but it was a good thing they started a little late and shortend the race to around 38 miles. Mike Busa, and Dan Cambell had a great move with a PA Lightning rider #273. I will not mention names for reasons to be giving later. They were away for about 18 miles and then I after the 3rd time asking Dave if I could join them Dave said yes. Thanks Dave! 3 RGF up the road and 1 PA Lightning rider. I had nothing on my mind about winning the race I just wanted to get as much time as possible. Well it didn't look like it was going to be to good and Mike wanted to drop that wheel sucker(PA Lightning rider #273). I told him no lets go for the overall, so we did. It ended up being a bad choice in the last 1.5 miles of the race as #273 proved to be able to hold his own against us 3. Of course he sat on us for over 28 miles so we should have dropped him or just take the lose?(more to come on that end too. #273 somehow clipped out of his pedal and almost lost control in the last 300 meters so I took advantage and won the race with my hands in the air for the first time this year. My teammates rode a perfect race taken 6 of the nine places that day. Funny thing is I didn't wreck in the race but I sure did wreck in the cool down in front of Dan and Mike. I told them "watch this" as I hung on to the bike rack, even after I traveled on the pavement for 20 feet. According to Mike I was smiling the whole time, which I think I was. Good thing the pavement was wet. Lord you are awesome in everyway!

Saturday's road race was great! I thought people would try and attack us but nothing really happend. RGF was willing to work with any team but PA Lightning because they all sat in on Friday nights race and Had one GC leader that Sat on us and was what we thought stronger than us. So Dave took off with another PA Lightning rider early and we would be close to them but never caught them until mile 63. Dave rode an outstanding race for 63 miles and then we should have been fresh for the end. 4 laps into the 8 lap race I had a broken rear wheel. My teammates helped me get a new wheel and back in the field since we had no support vehicle. We had raced so perfect all weekend, so proud of these young guys. Well with 1 lap to go before Dave and the PA Lightning guy got caught #273 had a flat at the front of the field. He was 1 sec behind me for the GC and 1 min and 10 seconds in front of 5th place. At least 3 of his PA Lightning so called Teammates watched him come through the field and out the back, where I love to race. It made me so mad that his teammate beside me on the back let him go so I yelled at the PA Lightning so called Teammate and said "aren't you going to help your GC leader" PA guy said "he is not our GC leader" I said "he isn't anymore" as I went to the front with all of my teammates and hammered away. I also said "I can't believe it" and " I feel obligated to give the guy my wheel" and the PA rider said "cool down" that's when I went to the front to let off some steam, that's how it went down. See Ya! Dan got 8th place in the race as 1 PA Lightning rider managed to get the stage win 5 seconds ahead yee haw! Thank you Lord for my Teammates and there willingness to sacrafice there selves for the GC since we had a God Giving stage win the night before. That's bike racing!

After the race and before the TT I talked with #273 about his day and why didn't his team help him. All he kept saying was "if there would have been a support vehicle and if know one would have said anything they would have giving me the same time as the field because I knew I was going to finish with the field I only had 9 miles to go". Well he knew there wasn't a support vehicle and what about my wheel with 4 laps to go, can I please have the same time as the field. I wasn't hot headed I had no clue I was going to finish with the field but I finished 16th on the day thanks to my teammates with the wheel change and pulling me back up to the field.

The TT hurt worst than last year and almost missed the 2nd to last turn after passing my 30 sec and 1 min riders I had a 5 sec lead on them and the one rider was behind me after I made the turn to almost a crawl speed due to no offical and lack of looking at the map before my start. Thanks to Andy Clarke and Dave Young I was set out for my first real experience of a TT with full gear. I did the TT in 15:06 which was 18 sec faster than last year and my body felt worse this year so it does pay to have the right stuff. That TT hurt bad, real bad. 4th in the TT and that put me 22 sec behind Dan my teammate so that was great. 3rd overall was Randy from UPMC and he was 58 sec behind after putting in an awesome TT time as well. Thank you Lord for helping me find my way back to the finish line.

Sunday RGF rode another great race as we finished 2nd 3rd and 10th. We also took 1st, 2nd and 7th overall for the stage race. I sent this to Glen the race promoter. I have not made contact yet with the USA Cycling Rep but will do so soon. I have tried to call him and will try again. Several teams thought that something needs to be done so that PA Lightning doesn't hurt anyone or themselves, it's a good thing I didn't sin and take one of them off the road my self. Satan sure was tempting me but I had a strong focus on what Jesus would do.

Glen thank you very much for putting on such a great event. Please share this e-mail with others that made this race possible as well. I know it had to be very stressful for you and the officals to make some decisions for the Cat 1-2 races. I want you to know what happend. I won friday night due to the PA Lightning rider that took 2nd place clipped out of his pedal with 200 meters to go. Very sorry that he had a mechanical, knowing he would have beaten me with ease. He did everything right and I made the choice to just go for the overall with my two teammates helping while Pa Lighnting sat on.

Saturday race I had a broken wheel and my teammates helped me back up to the field only taken us 2 miles to get back on. I took a wheel from my teammate in the race so he was left out of the rest of the race. Well with 1 lap to go PA Lightning rider #273 who was 2nd the night before had a flat in front of the field. #273 passed at least 3 of his teammates and was left behind by his team. While I watched and have other witnesses I yelled at his teammate on the back of the field and told him to help his teammate out "give him your wheel he is the leader of the GC Overall" the young PA Lightning teammate said no"he is not our GC leader". Then I said I felt "obligated to give him my wheel". When I found out about that guy having the same time as the field I couldn't believe it and our team was approached by 2 other teams as well.

Thank you for handling that problem correctly. I am sorry for the way they responded to you and others and it will not be tolerated. As I will be heading a complaint about there team not because of that day but Sunday.

Sunday PA Lightning tried to run my teammates and others off the road by slamming on there brakes and making erratic moves across the whole road, double yellow lines as well. One time they did it across a little bridge going toward the start finish area about 3 miles from the finish. My teammate had no where to go. This was after I had told the motorcycle offical about what they were doing. I realize he had others to watch as well. We all were against the PA Lightning team when they first started trying to knock people down. The 2nd time I saw it happen I decided to say something to the PA Lightning rider."What do you think you are doing" He said "that's bike racing"the same term I used when trying to teach there team how to race before the Time Trial.

"You have a flat tire with no wheel support and know that your the team leader of the team for GC and your team doesn't help you" I told #273 after that race before the TT. I talked with him for 15 mins." He didn't understand at all so I said when that happens the term I use is "bike racing". I told him about crits and how if "you have a flat the last 8 miles of the race and don't finish that is called bike racing".

So anyway when we were racing and I saw they tried to knock over my teammates the 2nd time and the PA Lightning guy said that was "bike racing" I said "ok I am 200 pounds and you are a buck 140 see that ditch over there". His jaw dropped and looked very scared, I told the PA Lightning rider,"I'm not going to put you in it because that is not bike racing". Then I continued to yell at him and told him " your team has fowl mouths and you are all selfish and don't help your own teammates out and your tactics are horrible". That was it and they still continued for 30 miles until I left them for good with 35 miles left to race.

As you can tell I am very upset with that team as well as other teams and something will be done soon very soon I hope. I need your help in getting more stories that I can share with USA Cycling so that maybe USA Cycling will teach them the proper way before someone gets seriously hurt or that it doesn't kill the sport. Also one of there riders came within inches of getting hit from behind by a car.
Thank you again,
Jeremy Grimm

A Weekend Racing I Will NEVER Forget!!!!!

When I get more time I will have to post something on my blog this weekend or week about this past weekend of races. You will not want to miss this race report and you will have to share it with other cyclist as well. I hope and pray that people will understand why I need to share it with other cyclist. What this team did was very wrong and could hurt the sport of cycling and everyone involved. I plan to tell USA Cyling about what went on but need to contact other riders that witnessed the races this past weekend. Please help me get the word out it could save a cyclist life or body parts, and will also make it more enjoyable to race. After all this is a hobby and this is not a full time job. Please bare with me.
Thanks,
Cookie Monster

Think, Think, Think

"Think, Think, Think. Now's the time think think think. When you have a problem think think think." I just love Caylin's cartoon's

Sometimes we feel we are going the right direction but we seem to always get side tracked. Or actually only God knows if we are heading the right way. All we can do is do our best to follow His son's example. Christ lead a perfect life and we need to be like Jesus.

Here are some things for you to think about. Thanks to a brother in Christ sharing with me and real friends intrude into each others life as Toby Mac would say. I thank the Lord for my friends to help me stay focused on Christ.

1 Timothy 4:8
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

This is meant to be an encouragement, not discouragement. Always put godliness first, eyes firmly fixed on God, pursuing and loving HIM with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength. Everything else must follow, including what we would DO for him, such as physical training or using out talents and gifts for His service.

Matthew 6:33
Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

If we’re not careful, we can start to put the gifts and talents before God. We can start to think that “we must try harder to do those things that please God” and it becomes out of our well of strength rather than his infinite well. The greatest commandment is to “love God with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength”. Keeping the first thing first is the way to bring balance to your life. It isn’t as important what we “do” for God as how we seek God. If we put seeking Him first, he will do the transforming. We are not to transform ourselves. Yes, we are told to obey, but the power to obey comes from immersing ourselves in God, his Word, his love and his nature.

1 Corinthians 13
Love 1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Garrett Wonders Memorial Race

I was very sick before I started to warm up. I didn't have a high Temp like my Wife and Caylin that stayed home. Since I was pre registered she said if I feel up to it then go ahead and go. Well I didn't feel up to it at all but since I didn't have a temp my mom and dad drove me down to the race. Got to the race and felt worse, but started to warm up and felt alot better.

The race started and I didn't even clip out after a warm up lap. The race was really good and reminded me how important it is to share the word to others about sharing the road. I helped out a little with this race when I was with Savage Hill but this was my first time racing on the course. I loved the course and we had great weather today.

I stayed at the front some and wanted a few breaks to go but Inferno made sure for a field sprint. I made some bad choices and was sitting behind to far at the end of the race. On the 2nd to last turn we had the RGF train on the inside and I yelled go when it was too late and only a few heard me. Since I was behind everyone and saw what was going on I should have went from the corner with all the weight I am carrying. Instead I yelled go and Inferno went, everyone followed and I came around into 6 place at the turn hitting my brakes so I wouldn't run into the Inferno front 3. Very frustrating when you sprint and know you had so much more left in the legs. Same mistakes over and over again and again. After looking at the video Dad took of me, you don't want to see it. I took a total of 7 pedal strokes for my so called sprint. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I should have told myself more than once where to go from. I told myself once in warm up this is where I will go but never did it in the race. I have serious problems!!!! Next time I sprint I will make sure I do it way ahead of the finish line so I say at least my legs had nothing left. My legs didn't even feel a burn in that race all day. I have some serious problems!!! Maybe I should just stop racing because of how stupid I am. God gives me all this power and what do I do with it?????????? NOTHING! I am very selfish and I will be working hard to not do something so stupid again.

The RGF team had a great race today I am very proud of how the team did today. I did feel better after the race but I am still a little sick. Can't say that will never happen again, I can only pray it doesn't. Thank you Lord for keeping me safe. The RGF Team had a great race and I am very proud of the Team.

Thank you lord for my health and safety. I pray that I will be more focused in the next race instead of just showing up sick. Legs felt great but my mind was out into space. Love you Lord and thank you very sorry to hold back on the gifts you have giving me.

Lap 3

The top video is the 3rd time up the Snake. The bottom video is the last lap after the Snake. I am flying to catch the 5 riders in front of me. I end up passing them and taking 22nd out of 94 starters.

Snake Alley Lap 1

The top video is the first lap where I had to clip out due to a blockage in front of me after I overlapped a wheel. I almost held a Track stand on it, maybe next year I will be better at the Track stance. The bottom video is the 2nd lap up the Snake.

Snake Alley race report

First lap I started in 70th on the line and was in the 30's before the Snake. Lost 25 or more places up the Snake and 4 laps later I was in the top 30. The next 5 laps I got dropped by a group of 8 riders and my teammate Dan chased for 3 laps to join us. I told him to take off he was stronger than these 8 riders. I never saw Dan again and the group of 8 riders was leaving my sight. After spending the next 6 laps by myself and telling my wife I was done the leaders were only 100 meters behind me for 3 laps. I saw Eric for 2 laps trying to get to me. Then with 4 to go Dickey and Jensen caught me at the top of the Snake and I got to draft someone for a change. To this point I only had been on someones wheel a total of 4 full laps and 4 other laps only on the flat part of the course. Also when I came around I got the 2 laps to go sign instead of 3 which made it even better. Of course I got dropped by Dickey and Jensen but I saw that same group of 8 that I had been with at the beginning of the race. So I went as hard as I could and again I was by myself when I got the bell lap and went up the Snake leaving nothing left in the legs and kept pushing harder as I went down the hill through the turns. I flew by the group of 8 with 3 turns left and sat up as I passed looking back for someone to jump. Someone in the group yelled up and I jumped on the riders wheel as he went by with one last turn to go. He lead through the last turn and I jumped inside with open road in front of me. One rider came beside me just after the turn but had nothing left. As Dad said I had a 6 bike lead through the finish line. Thank you Lord for my safety and the 19 lap miracle race.

Snake Alley Videos Thanks Dad

The top video was the 4th time up Snake Alley. The bottom video with Becky counting was the 5th lap up the Love/Hated Snake Alley. If you are wondering where Caylin was she was with Grammy and all the other girls in Clinton 2.5 hours away from this race.

I'm Proud of My Daddy!

My Daddy did this big race in Iowa called Snake Alley. It had a really BIG hill he had to go up 20 times! I am so proud of him because he finished the race in 22nd place out of 90+ starters. I love you Daddy!

Thank you

Hill repeats is what I ended up doing. I wish I had never done them. It was raining and kind of cold when I did the hill repeats in the morning. Thanks to Aaron I knew exactly what I needed to do to prepare for this weekend at Iowa. My first time up deerfield was by far the best. I didn't go all the way up deerfield but I did go 1,120 feet in 55 seconds. My average watts for 607 feet was 759 watts and it took me 37 sec. Big drop off on the next 6 times. 618 watts 41 sec, 604 watts 44 sec, 554 watts 51 sec, 574 watts 47 sec, 528 watts 51 sec, and 510 watts 52 sec. These were just the best 600 feet part of the climb I generally covered 840 feet + everytime and always took a rest of 1.5 mins or more each time. I tried to sit down a lot since the road was very wet. I wish I would have waited 1 more hour cause by the time I got home everything was dry.

So with that said I need to try and go as fast as I can for 3 laps and hope that I get up in the front 25 somewhere. I will start well behind 67 and could be as far back as 87 place due to calls to the line. I have a very bad feeling about this race Snake Alley. There profile says you climb 123 per lap and the last 276 feet you climb 60 feet. That is near 22% which is not my cup of tea. If this is so I may not be able to finish more than 12 laps before getting pulled out of the race or lapped. Last year the top 20th so riders got lapped by the winner.

Thank you Lord I am done with hill repeats. Thank you Lord for helping me notice my biggest weakness. I used to do hill repeats in my first couple of years I started riding, wish I wouldn't have stopped now. Please Lord be with my mom safe travels today and for our safety as well.

Please vote and read my comment. (Jeremy)

Hill repeats or Rest?

Well I have had a cold for 4 days and it seems to be getting better. I raced with a cold on saturday and I have been feeling better since.

So I have a ? to ask anyone that is willing to help me get prepared for Snake Alley and 3 days of racing.

How should I trian for these races?

To late just rest.

Hill repeats on Deerfield this friday or saturday.

Long easy ride in amish country this saturday.

Ride hard for three days same as the races I am doing

None of the above.

I know first thing is pray. Train smart is next but I think if I go hard on saturday and simulate the Snake Alley race it may help, or will it make things worse. What do you think?
I am thinking about doing Hill repeats on Deerfield, but the other choices may be better. I don't know, that is why I am asking for your vote. It will be fun to see what you think. Then after the weekend I will post what I did.
Thanks,

JC

P.S. Here is what I will be trying to do:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcDE_lT-HjA

I love shrimp!

Grandma took Daddy, Mommy, and I out to eat at Olive Garden this past Saturday. Mommy got some kind of pasta with shrimp. I wanted to try it. I tried the shrimp and they were so good! I ate at least 6 or more. Grandma ordered me some shrimp and I got to take them home to eat! Thanks Grandma! (I guess we can add seafood restaurants to our list of places to eat.)

My Dancing Partner

Superman is a fabulous dancer! He loves to twirl around and do dips!

Pizza and Diego

Today I wanted to take some of my money that I have been saving to Walmart. I wanted to buy Diego. We stood in line and I gave Diego to the cashier. She told me it would cost 6.25. I gave the lady money, but she didn't give my money back. She kept it! I told Mommy that she was not nice keeping my money and not giving it back. (I thought this was too funny!)
After we went to Walmart Mommy asked me if I wanted to take Pa Pa John's pizza home for supper. It was the day of the 23 cent pizza. We stood in line for an hour and a half. When we got to order the pizza the man asked me what kind of pizza I wanted and I said "Cheese Pizza". (We got to order 2 pizzas since Caylin was with me!) Mommy went back in 3 hours to pick up the pizza. Pretty crazy!

Mommy's Mother's Day Present

I picked out this pretty flower to plant for Mommy for Mother's Day. I love to plant flowers! On Mother's Day I made pancakes for Mommy. She said they were very yummy!

Awakened by a kiss!

The prince (Daddy) must break the spell. He needs to kiss me for me to wake up!

RATL #4

Hardest race I have done in a couple years. I was in the red for the 1 hour race. One time I felt like puking, and another time my side hurt so bad I wanted to quit. With all my allergies, asthma, head/chest cold, and recovering from a couple of wrecks the weekend before. I felt great about how I finished 8th or something like that. My main concern is will I be ready for Snake Alley and the other races? RATL was so fast and I was glad to have 7 other teammates at the race. Sad thing is we didn't win. I had fun no crashes and Andy Clarke was up the road, sorry I couldn't help once again. We had photos after the race and I felt rushed all day since I didn't plan for them. Sorry to everyone I was short with or rude too, at least I felt I was.

Pray for me to heal up get healthy and enjoy Snake Alley. I would like to finish in the top 20 but may not even be able to finish the race do to uncertainty. I pray that God will help me to just enjoy this race no matter if I finish or not.

Snake Alley is listed by the Ripleys Believe It or Not as the crookedest street in the world. Not only is it crooked, but it is steep and its surface is old brick. It provides a real challenge to the bicyclist racers to race up this landmark street (one that is a challenge for most to simply walk up).

Church and Romans/Abraham

Well I started teaching kids how to throw and catch at church for T-Ball. Very hard to teach them. By the end of the 1 hour in the last 10 min session I had kids rolling around in the grass down the hill. So much fun!

Church on Sunday was awesome! We had our dedication Sunday for the little ones. Also John did a great job for Mothers day. Proverbs 31; 10-31. He had mentioned for mothers not to get discouraged for this was a list that set the bar high. I thought about it and my wife does so much, I thought what do I do? I better be more supportive and loving. I told her sorry for things that have been said in the past. No one is perfect but I better set a great example to others. Don't let your flame burn out mothers we love you.

Ok as for Romans we have set a new obsatcle in the way. I had to look up when the circumcision started and how many children did Abraham end up having?

Well in Genesis 17; 24 Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised. He had Ishmael, Isaac, Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah.

I suggest you read about Abraham starting in Genesis 11; 26 His name was Abram and was switched to Abraham when he was circumcised. This story is like one of those Soap shows on TV.
It is so amazing how much Abraham devoted himself to the Lord. He did do a bunch of things God did not approve of but it seemed to me he took two steps forward and one step back and then two steps forward. Always moving closer to God. Again no one is perfect except for Jesus!

Enjoy reading hope you let me know what you think and if you have questions I would love to try and look them up.

Fun in the Carolina's

I had a fun time traveling to Spartanburg, SC and Charlotte, NC this past weekend. My daddy raced one night in the dark and the next day up a big hill. I had fun drinking shaved ice drinks with Mommy at the race. My daddy "wracked". I told the other racers they need to go home and not race. They were not nice to Daddy!

We got to stay in a hotel! I love hotels! We got to eat out! We had a picnic on the way to Daddy's race. Mommy and Daddy say I am the best traveler. We left Friday at 7:30a.m. and got home Sunday at 2:00am. It was a quick trip. Mommy and Daddy are really tired!

Races this past weekend

Thanks to everyone that was praying for me. Becky, Caylin, and I went to SC and NC for some bike races. Friday night in the dark I raced on a four corner flat crit course that we did 70 laps in 1 hour and 16 mins. In the first 5 laps I found myself on the pavement with 50 other riders. I looked at my bike after checking to make sure I didn't have any broken bones or that I wasn't losing any blood rapidly. The bike however needed repairs. As I got back on my bike I was hoping everything worked as we hit 35 mph in 15 seconds. Why do I do this again? After another 10 laps I hit the pavment again. This time I should have used a little more sense. I overlapped a guys wheel and he had made an erratic move and need I say more. That one made me a little upset at myself. So after that I just rode easy and out of trouble for a while. Half way through the race I felt good enough to see what I could do. I moved up and felt confortable at the middle front of the field and then decided to sit in watching breaks go up the road. I thought about going up to them a couple of times, but I stuck to my sit in and wait plan.

As they were giving away 250 dollar primes and 100 dollar primes, I sat in the field. Then I heard nine to go and I was in great position, top 30. Every lap it is different, 20 pass you then you have to pass them the next lap. At this time in the race I have never felt so strong and I felt like I could do anything. 3 laps to go and I took off after another rider that I thought would be able to do something. As he was done racing with 2 laps to go I went hard for another lap and was caught with one to go.

God had blessed me with great legs and I tried to use them, but they were not what He wanted me to do. Maybe He did and I just learned how not to do it. Any way they caught me with one to go and I decided to try and stay up front after I attacked at 40 mph for longer than I should have. Well durning that last lap I found myself giving up and as I came to the last turn, bikes everywhere! I sprinted past 20 or more riders and then some to finish in the last pay spot for 30th place. http://www.usacrits.com/speedweek08/results/promen_spartanburg.pdf

Thank you Lord for me and my family's trip, safety, and health. Thank you for the lessons I learned and the people we came in contact with.

April 26th race

Munroe Falls is a great place to race. It may be the best I have been too.

On that day of the race I met up with friends from MI. Becky, Caylin and I had a great time of Fellowship with them for too short of a weekend. Our time went so fast, we had so much fun. After the race Jeff had e-mailed me and was very thankful for RGF making him feel like one of the team members. Thanks RGF. The plan was to go out hard and send two up the road everytime. That didn't happen to much. It seemed like one up the road by there selves or one in a break of 4. So it all came down to a sprint finish that was almost one by a last effort for a solo victory by RGF. We had failed at winning the race, but we placed 2nd, 4th, 6th, 16th, and 18th.

I was happy with the places but we made one very big mistake. We didn't lead out our sprinter, instead he lead me out from 400 meters and I still couldn't come around him. Only one guy could. Next time I will lead out no matter what if I feel the way I did before the sprint. I made a big mistake and will not make that one again. Sorry to all my teammates.

RATL

I will not be racing this saturday at Munroe Falls, but I pray I will be back for the May 10th race. Please pray for my health and safety.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Paging Dr. Caylin

I love playing doctor on Mommy and Daddy. I say, "Do you have a d-pointment."

This is what I ask:

What is your name? Becky G. Mommy says.

What hurts? Mommy says her belly.

What did you eat? Pumpkin cake Mommy says.

Medicine can make you all better.

If you have a headache tell me.

Mommy asks if she is done. I say not yet!

Andrew came to visit!

My daddy's racing friend Jeff came down from Michigan with his wife Elizabeth, and their son Andrew. We had the best time playing together!

Noah's Birthday Party

I had a fun time at Noah's birthday party. We got to make our own pizza. We got to pat it out and make it flat. Then we added our pizza sauce and cheese. Noah's daddy baked our pizza in the oven and then we got to eat it. It was YUMMY!
Noah's mommy made the birthday cake and boy was it good! I like to eat the frosting first.
I had the best time being at his birthday! Thanks Noah!

This yard needs mowed!

I decided to help Mommy mow the yard! I like to mow while Mommy is mowing!

T-Ball and Old Car Rides

Check out my new t-ball equipment Grammy and PaPa got me! They got me a new pink batting helmet, pink balls, a pink glove, a pink bat, and a batting tee that my daddy used when he played baseball. Thanks Grammy and PaPa!
I love going on old car rides with Grammy and PaPa. It is so much fun! PaPa and I both like getting ice cream when we go on our rides. We usually go to Harzlers Dairy. Yummy Yummy!

These Trees Smell

Mommy wanted me to get our picture taken in front of the pear tree. I told her that tree it too smelly! I do like the flowers on it though!
