I had my birthday pictures taken!

Mommy and Daddy agree that these are the best professional pictures they have had taken of me! Just call me Supermodel Caylin! I was striking a pose! The photographers are Scott and Tina Ferrell of Orrville. Their website is http://www.capturedmemoriesphotography.zenfolio.com/

Summer = Pool Time

I go swimming almost everyday with Mommy. Sometimes my friends are there, too. Mommy says I am becoming a little fish. I am brave and put my face in the water and I can go under the mushroom. I can swim with my floaties on.

I like it when both Mommy and Daddy can take me. This past Sunday we all got to go swimming together as a family for my birthday.

Tuckered Out!

I had fun swimming today. I was too tuckered out to play with my toys after I swam all day! I fell asleep in my toy room I put my princess lunch bag under my head and covered up with a blanket. I slept for almost 2 hours like this.

Mt.Vernon

After a hard weekend and my legs not feeling the best going into that weekend I decided to race at the first race of the Tour Of Ohio, since no races will be going on around here. I rode to work the day of the race and in the morning my legs felt horrible. When I rode home they felt alot better. I thought maybe I have a chance to do good if I am in a break. Tyler told all the riders that everyone will get the same time if they don't finish.

Great now I knew it would be hard to get to the front since I was the last person to sign up. Gaps opened up everywhere and riders were quiting the first 2 laps into the race. It made it very hard to bridge every gap but I managed to do so. I had no idea I was on the front for 3 laps until I started to real back in the leader and saw the pace car for the first time that day. I tried to jump once after that but it was to late by the time I slowed up the attacks started and 4 riders got away thanks to my pulls for 4 laps. Now maybe I will feel good for Grandview.

The crowd was awesome!!!! Just like the Athens Twilight for one lap.

Tour of Ohio

Dan Cambell is the Overall GC leader of the Tour of Ohio! Great Job Dan!!!!!!!

I wonder what He Thinks?

Well Friday after work My family and I traveled in traffic through Columbus and through a down pour and lightning strikes! Well that wasn't the last time I saw Lightning. I had to race with them all weekend, PA Lightning. A team from the eastern part of PA, according to another team that said they were from the Pittsburg area and made sure everyone knew they were not that team (PA Lightning). Anyway I wasn't the last racer to get ready but it was a good thing they started a little late and shortend the race to around 38 miles. Mike Busa, and Dan Cambell had a great move with a PA Lightning rider #273. I will not mention names for reasons to be giving later. They were away for about 18 miles and then I after the 3rd time asking Dave if I could join them Dave said yes. Thanks Dave! 3 RGF up the road and 1 PA Lightning rider. I had nothing on my mind about winning the race I just wanted to get as much time as possible. Well it didn't look like it was going to be to good and Mike wanted to drop that wheel sucker(PA Lightning rider #273). I told him no lets go for the overall, so we did. It ended up being a bad choice in the last 1.5 miles of the race as #273 proved to be able to hold his own against us 3. Of course he sat on us for over 28 miles so we should have dropped him or just take the lose?(more to come on that end too. #273 somehow clipped out of his pedal and almost lost control in the last 300 meters so I took advantage and won the race with my hands in the air for the first time this year. My teammates rode a perfect race taken 6 of the nine places that day. Funny thing is I didn't wreck in the race but I sure did wreck in the cool down in front of Dan and Mike. I told them "watch this" as I hung on to the bike rack, even after I traveled on the pavement for 20 feet. According to Mike I was smiling the whole time, which I think I was. Good thing the pavement was wet. Lord you are awesome in everyway!

Saturday's road race was great! I thought people would try and attack us but nothing really happend. RGF was willing to work with any team but PA Lightning because they all sat in on Friday nights race and Had one GC leader that Sat on us and was what we thought stronger than us. So Dave took off with another PA Lightning rider early and we would be close to them but never caught them until mile 63. Dave rode an outstanding race for 63 miles and then we should have been fresh for the end. 4 laps into the 8 lap race I had a broken rear wheel. My teammates helped me get a new wheel and back in the field since we had no support vehicle. We had raced so perfect all weekend, so proud of these young guys. Well with 1 lap to go before Dave and the PA Lightning guy got caught #273 had a flat at the front of the field. He was 1 sec behind me for the GC and 1 min and 10 seconds in front of 5th place. At least 3 of his PA Lightning so called Teammates watched him come through the field and out the back, where I love to race. It made me so mad that his teammate beside me on the back let him go so I yelled at the PA Lightning so called Teammate and said "aren't you going to help your GC leader" PA guy said "he is not our GC leader" I said "he isn't anymore" as I went to the front with all of my teammates and hammered away. I also said "I can't believe it" and " I feel obligated to give the guy my wheel" and the PA rider said "cool down" that's when I went to the front to let off some steam, that's how it went down. See Ya! Dan got 8th place in the race as 1 PA Lightning rider managed to get the stage win 5 seconds ahead yee haw! Thank you Lord for my Teammates and there willingness to sacrafice there selves for the GC since we had a God Giving stage win the night before. That's bike racing!

After the race and before the TT I talked with #273 about his day and why didn't his team help him. All he kept saying was "if there would have been a support vehicle and if know one would have said anything they would have giving me the same time as the field because I knew I was going to finish with the field I only had 9 miles to go". Well he knew there wasn't a support vehicle and what about my wheel with 4 laps to go, can I please have the same time as the field. I wasn't hot headed I had no clue I was going to finish with the field but I finished 16th on the day thanks to my teammates with the wheel change and pulling me back up to the field.

The TT hurt worst than last year and almost missed the 2nd to last turn after passing my 30 sec and 1 min riders I had a 5 sec lead on them and the one rider was behind me after I made the turn to almost a crawl speed due to no offical and lack of looking at the map before my start. Thanks to Andy Clarke and Dave Young I was set out for my first real experience of a TT with full gear. I did the TT in 15:06 which was 18 sec faster than last year and my body felt worse this year so it does pay to have the right stuff. That TT hurt bad, real bad. 4th in the TT and that put me 22 sec behind Dan my teammate so that was great. 3rd overall was Randy from UPMC and he was 58 sec behind after putting in an awesome TT time as well. Thank you Lord for helping me find my way back to the finish line.

Sunday RGF rode another great race as we finished 2nd 3rd and 10th. We also took 1st, 2nd and 7th overall for the stage race. I sent this to Glen the race promoter. I have not made contact yet with the USA Cycling Rep but will do so soon. I have tried to call him and will try again. Several teams thought that something needs to be done so that PA Lightning doesn't hurt anyone or themselves, it's a good thing I didn't sin and take one of them off the road my self. Satan sure was tempting me but I had a strong focus on what Jesus would do.

Glen thank you very much for putting on such a great event. Please share this e-mail with others that made this race possible as well. I know it had to be very stressful for you and the officals to make some decisions for the Cat 1-2 races. I want you to know what happend. I won friday night due to the PA Lightning rider that took 2nd place clipped out of his pedal with 200 meters to go. Very sorry that he had a mechanical, knowing he would have beaten me with ease. He did everything right and I made the choice to just go for the overall with my two teammates helping while Pa Lighnting sat on.

Saturday race I had a broken wheel and my teammates helped me back up to the field only taken us 2 miles to get back on. I took a wheel from my teammate in the race so he was left out of the rest of the race. Well with 1 lap to go PA Lightning rider #273 who was 2nd the night before had a flat in front of the field. #273 passed at least 3 of his teammates and was left behind by his team. While I watched and have other witnesses I yelled at his teammate on the back of the field and told him to help his teammate out "give him your wheel he is the leader of the GC Overall" the young PA Lightning teammate said no"he is not our GC leader". Then I said I felt "obligated to give him my wheel". When I found out about that guy having the same time as the field I couldn't believe it and our team was approached by 2 other teams as well.

Thank you for handling that problem correctly. I am sorry for the way they responded to you and others and it will not be tolerated. As I will be heading a complaint about there team not because of that day but Sunday.

Sunday PA Lightning tried to run my teammates and others off the road by slamming on there brakes and making erratic moves across the whole road, double yellow lines as well. One time they did it across a little bridge going toward the start finish area about 3 miles from the finish. My teammate had no where to go. This was after I had told the motorcycle offical about what they were doing. I realize he had others to watch as well. We all were against the PA Lightning team when they first started trying to knock people down. The 2nd time I saw it happen I decided to say something to the PA Lightning rider."What do you think you are doing" He said "that's bike racing"the same term I used when trying to teach there team how to race before the Time Trial.

"You have a flat tire with no wheel support and know that your the team leader of the team for GC and your team doesn't help you" I told #273 after that race before the TT. I talked with him for 15 mins." He didn't understand at all so I said when that happens the term I use is "bike racing". I told him about crits and how if "you have a flat the last 8 miles of the race and don't finish that is called bike racing".

So anyway when we were racing and I saw they tried to knock over my teammates the 2nd time and the PA Lightning guy said that was "bike racing" I said "ok I am 200 pounds and you are a buck 140 see that ditch over there". His jaw dropped and looked very scared, I told the PA Lightning rider,"I'm not going to put you in it because that is not bike racing". Then I continued to yell at him and told him " your team has fowl mouths and you are all selfish and don't help your own teammates out and your tactics are horrible". That was it and they still continued for 30 miles until I left them for good with 35 miles left to race.

As you can tell I am very upset with that team as well as other teams and something will be done soon very soon I hope. I need your help in getting more stories that I can share with USA Cycling so that maybe USA Cycling will teach them the proper way before someone gets seriously hurt or that it doesn't kill the sport. Also one of there riders came within inches of getting hit from behind by a car.
Thank you again,
Jeremy Grimm

A Weekend Racing I Will NEVER Forget!!!!!

When I get more time I will have to post something on my blog this weekend or week about this past weekend of races. You will not want to miss this race report and you will have to share it with other cyclist as well. I hope and pray that people will understand why I need to share it with other cyclist. What this team did was very wrong and could hurt the sport of cycling and everyone involved. I plan to tell USA Cyling about what went on but need to contact other riders that witnessed the races this past weekend. Please help me get the word out it could save a cyclist life or body parts, and will also make it more enjoyable to race. After all this is a hobby and this is not a full time job. Please bare with me.
Thanks,
Cookie Monster

Think, Think, Think

"Think, Think, Think. Now's the time think think think. When you have a problem think think think." I just love Caylin's cartoon's

Sometimes we feel we are going the right direction but we seem to always get side tracked. Or actually only God knows if we are heading the right way. All we can do is do our best to follow His son's example. Christ lead a perfect life and we need to be like Jesus.

Here are some things for you to think about. Thanks to a brother in Christ sharing with me and real friends intrude into each others life as Toby Mac would say. I thank the Lord for my friends to help me stay focused on Christ.

1 Timothy 4:8
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

This is meant to be an encouragement, not discouragement. Always put godliness first, eyes firmly fixed on God, pursuing and loving HIM with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength. Everything else must follow, including what we would DO for him, such as physical training or using out talents and gifts for His service.

Matthew 6:33
Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

If we’re not careful, we can start to put the gifts and talents before God. We can start to think that “we must try harder to do those things that please God” and it becomes out of our well of strength rather than his infinite well. The greatest commandment is to “love God with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength”. Keeping the first thing first is the way to bring balance to your life. It isn’t as important what we “do” for God as how we seek God. If we put seeking Him first, he will do the transforming. We are not to transform ourselves. Yes, we are told to obey, but the power to obey comes from immersing ourselves in God, his Word, his love and his nature.

1 Corinthians 13
Love 1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Garrett Wonders Memorial Race

I was very sick before I started to warm up. I didn't have a high Temp like my Wife and Caylin that stayed home. Since I was pre registered she said if I feel up to it then go ahead and go. Well I didn't feel up to it at all but since I didn't have a temp my mom and dad drove me down to the race. Got to the race and felt worse, but started to warm up and felt alot better.

The race started and I didn't even clip out after a warm up lap. The race was really good and reminded me how important it is to share the word to others about sharing the road. I helped out a little with this race when I was with Savage Hill but this was my first time racing on the course. I loved the course and we had great weather today.

I stayed at the front some and wanted a few breaks to go but Inferno made sure for a field sprint. I made some bad choices and was sitting behind to far at the end of the race. On the 2nd to last turn we had the RGF train on the inside and I yelled go when it was too late and only a few heard me. Since I was behind everyone and saw what was going on I should have went from the corner with all the weight I am carrying. Instead I yelled go and Inferno went, everyone followed and I came around into 6 place at the turn hitting my brakes so I wouldn't run into the Inferno front 3. Very frustrating when you sprint and know you had so much more left in the legs. Same mistakes over and over again and again. After looking at the video Dad took of me, you don't want to see it. I took a total of 7 pedal strokes for my so called sprint. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I should have told myself more than once where to go from. I told myself once in warm up this is where I will go but never did it in the race. I have serious problems!!!! Next time I sprint I will make sure I do it way ahead of the finish line so I say at least my legs had nothing left. My legs didn't even feel a burn in that race all day. I have some serious problems!!! Maybe I should just stop racing because of how stupid I am. God gives me all this power and what do I do with it?????????? NOTHING! I am very selfish and I will be working hard to not do something so stupid again.

The RGF team had a great race today I am very proud of how the team did today. I did feel better after the race but I am still a little sick. Can't say that will never happen again, I can only pray it doesn't. Thank you Lord for keeping me safe. The RGF Team had a great race and I am very proud of the Team.

Thank you lord for my health and safety. I pray that I will be more focused in the next race instead of just showing up sick. Legs felt great but my mind was out into space. Love you Lord and thank you very sorry to hold back on the gifts you have giving me.

Lap 3

The top video is the 3rd time up the Snake. The bottom video is the last lap after the Snake. I am flying to catch the 5 riders in front of me. I end up passing them and taking 22nd out of 94 starters.

Snake Alley Lap 1

The top video is the first lap where I had to clip out due to a blockage in front of me after I overlapped a wheel. I almost held a Track stand on it, maybe next year I will be better at the Track stance. The bottom video is the 2nd lap up the Snake.

Snake Alley race report

First lap I started in 70th on the line and was in the 30's before the Snake. Lost 25 or more places up the Snake and 4 laps later I was in the top 30. The next 5 laps I got dropped by a group of 8 riders and my teammate Dan chased for 3 laps to join us. I told him to take off he was stronger than these 8 riders. I never saw Dan again and the group of 8 riders was leaving my sight. After spending the next 6 laps by myself and telling my wife I was done the leaders were only 100 meters behind me for 3 laps. I saw Eric for 2 laps trying to get to me. Then with 4 to go Dickey and Jensen caught me at the top of the Snake and I got to draft someone for a change. To this point I only had been on someones wheel a total of 4 full laps and 4 other laps only on the flat part of the course. Also when I came around I got the 2 laps to go sign instead of 3 which made it even better. Of course I got dropped by Dickey and Jensen but I saw that same group of 8 that I had been with at the beginning of the race. So I went as hard as I could and again I was by myself when I got the bell lap and went up the Snake leaving nothing left in the legs and kept pushing harder as I went down the hill through the turns. I flew by the group of 8 with 3 turns left and sat up as I passed looking back for someone to jump. Someone in the group yelled up and I jumped on the riders wheel as he went by with one last turn to go. He lead through the last turn and I jumped inside with open road in front of me. One rider came beside me just after the turn but had nothing left. As Dad said I had a 6 bike lead through the finish line. Thank you Lord for my safety and the 19 lap miracle race.

Snake Alley Videos Thanks Dad

The top video was the 4th time up Snake Alley. The bottom video with Becky counting was the 5th lap up the Love/Hated Snake Alley. If you are wondering where Caylin was she was with Grammy and all the other girls in Clinton 2.5 hours away from this race.
