Big Races.....
I would like to do them all but I work for a living, cycling is just for fun. Sometimes you like doing the big races as long as you don't wreck. Since I am not fit enough for Road racing, Crit races will have to do. I have never liked doing crit races and the best part is when the crit is done and no blood is dripping off your body or no broken bones. Still after all the wrecks I have been in I still go back for more. I guess riding 8 hours a week avg for the year and lining up at the same line with all the Big pros is cool. That is the last time I see them though, unless God powers me to the line with them. I always look back and wonder how that happened. I get dropped on some of the local club rides. Well that is the great thing about cycling you can save 30 % of your energy sitting in the field and so if they are putting out 400 watts you only have to put out 280 watts. You can even keep up with the big boys if you are 50 years old. Just riding the bike is fun for me I could do it without racing every weekend. The only thing that keeps me going back to races is I love to compete. I have never been one to compete only or by myself but when the season starts it helps me to get into shape, racing shape. This saturday will be my second race but will be more like my first, since my first race was almost 7 weeks ago. So I don't know what God has planned for me but maybe by your votes and comments it will help us decide.
Please Vote!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you

IX Indoor Amusement Park

Mommy and Grandma took me to the IX Indoor Amusement Park last Saturday! I had a blast! I rode lots of fun rides! My favorite is the swings. They had lots of different versions of the swings. I got Mommy to ride a roller coaster with me! I even put my hands up! I am a dare devil! I get that from my Daddy. He isn't afraid of anything! At the end of the day I even got to meet Snow White. She was so pretty! I definitely want to go back next year! PLEASE

Church post over due
Well Church at OCC has been awesome!
The first question was: Are we going to recognize each other in heaven, and, if we do, will we feel sad when we do not see some of our family and friends there?
I will give the short version since I am behind on everything.
Yes we will be able to recognize others in Heaven and we will be filled with joy in Heaven. It was great to be in Church that Sunday and so awesome to read from the bible on this question. We will receive a new body. John explained it very clearly. When someone calls us over the phone we know who it is by there voice. Jesus was not clearly recognized at first but they all knew it was Him after a second take. Would you recognize someone that had been dead for 3 days? I wouldn't even think about it so it would take at least three times and doubt until I would spend time with Him.
#2 question was: Is everything or anything predestined by God?
Some things are predestined be God. Jesus will return, for it is predestined by God. God has allowed us to make our choices. We may make good choices or we make bad ones. God allows us to make choice. So some things are and some are not.
#3 question was:“Can my prayer change God’s mind?”
Yes it can! God loves for us to pray to Him. But when we ask for prayer be careful how you ask. God will answer your prayer but it may not be the way you want it.
I am so glad we are doing this series, Thank you John Mulpas!
John has given us wonderful scriptures on all the questions, it has been great.
Our church attendence has also been up as well.
T-ball starts here soon and I pray for sunny wednesdays to come.

Coach Grimm or Grimm Fairy Tales
Well sometimes I think of things and sometimes I shouldn't think. What do you think about me coaching? I am not to sure on the idea but sometimes you just have to have someone else make a decision for you or just go for it no matter what they say. I am not for sure? I wouldn't dare charge anyone though, that is for sure.
Sponsor a Race?
I have been thinking about planning rides or planning a race what do you think? I was going to do rides on a thursday or tuesday around 4:00pm-5:00pm starting at or around the OCC church. Or just plan a race this year, which would take some sponsors to do this one. Rides would take up more time but it may get our local youth involved. What should I do, please vote at the poll. Thanks!
Brecksville Canceled?
I thought this was weird since I just took a training ride over the race course with about 20 others. They must be doing road repairs on good roads? Let me know maybe I was sleeping while I was riding. Here is the link: http://chippewacreekrr.webs.com/

Race at the Lake
To let you know where I will be racing close to home I have posted where I will be racing next.
On Saturday April 19th I will be racing at Race at the Lake. My race starts at 11:45 AM and there are other races before mine. My race will last 1 hour and is the last race. This race is located at a very nice Park with a new play ground in Munroe Falls. This drive takes 45 mins to 55 mins from downtown Orrville. The best way to explain how to get there from Orrville is to go: 57 north, turn right onto 585, go north on route 21, then go east on route 76 toward the University of Akron, then go north on route 8, turn right or head east on Howe Ave, you will pass Chapel Hill Mall and lots of great places to eat, then turn left or head north on route 91 or it may have other names like (North ave or South Main street or Darrow road) but I think it says route 91, next turn right on S River road it is the first road you can turn right on, if you pass the Citgo gas station you have gone to far, next turn right into the Munroe Falls Metropolitan park, you don't pay anything to park everything is free so just go buy the entrance with the park rangers and there should be a barrier at the top of the hill so take a left and then a quick right into the parking area. Be carful and go slow once you get on S River road lots of cyclist. Restrooms are in the big building across the race course so be careful crossing the street. It is better to cross the street where you can see a distance not at a corner.
This is the best race to view a first cycling event for a fun family day outside. Pray for a sunny day and safe travels to all.
So go 57 north about 6 miles, 585 north or east go 8 miles or so, 21 north go 2 miles, 76 east go 9 miles maybe, route 8 north go 4 miles, Howe Ave east for 2 miles or a little less, a left on 91 go 1.6 miles something like that, a right on S River road go .8 miles and be careful even though the cyclist should be obeying the laws because it is not the race course then turn right into the park and go .2 miles up and around the hill left at the barrier and right at the 2nd barrier.
Or just go to http://www.mapquest.com/ and type this http://www.mapquest.com/maps/Munroe+falls+metorpolitan+park:%5B1-95%5D+S+River+Rd+Munroe+Falls+OH+44262/#a/search/l::[1-95]+S+River+Rd:Munroe+Falls:OH:44262:US:41.1358:-81.438:street:Summit+County/m:hyb:14:41.136865:-81.438006:0:0:/so:Munroe+Falls+Metropolitain+Park:::d::25:::::/e
Look at the number one and then scroll the street and you should see the park, the aerial view is cool to look at.
Hope to see you at the Race.

God's Faithfulness
I am sure this is hard for some to understand. With God sending His one and only son (Jesus) to die for us, our sins are made clean through Him. Everyone has a choice God or satan, good or evil.
5But if our unrighteousness brings out God's righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.) 6Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world?
No One is Righteous
9What shall we conclude then? Are we any better[b]? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. 10As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; 11there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. 12All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."[c] 13"Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit."[d] "The poison of vipers is on their lips."[e] 14"Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."[f] 15"Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16ruin and misery mark their ways, 17and the way of peace they do not know."[g] 18"There is no fear of God before their eyes."[h]
19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
I had to put all of this in here. I think everyone knows that no one is perfect. God sent Jesus as a living sacrifice for us. God loves us more than we can ever fathom.
Righteousness Through Faith
21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
27Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. 28For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. 29Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
I have to say one thing that I have seen over the years is people think you are better than them if you are a Christian. This makes it pretty clear reading Romans 3 for those that are asking that same question. God is here for everyone all you have to do is accept His Love for you.

I'm A Dancing Queen!
Caylin had the best time at a wedding we went to on Saturday. She was the life of the reception! This girl loves to dance. She wanted to dance with all the older boys. (Age 8-12) She didn't give the young boys her age the time of day! LOL There was the time during the dancing where all the dancers stand in a circle and clap for whoever is in the middle showing off their best dance moves, well Caylin goes in the middle. She just danced and danced. Too Funny!
Caylin also lined up for the bouquet toss. When she didn't get the flowers she threw her hands up in the air, like she was upset.
Jeremy and I are probably going to have our hands full when she starts dating. Older boys, I don't think so!
I will post either video or pics later.

Romans 2
Romans 2
God's Righteous Judgment
(1You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? 4Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?)
Sometimes it is hard for me when I see someone looking gothic. I figure they are trouble. I do really know that they are just kids doing what they want maybe in rebellion against the parents. You just don't know the full situation because you never confront them. Next time, as I have been taught from someone that goes to our church that used to dress that way, say hi to that person. Ask them a ? be friendly. Then pray you see them again and do the same thing. Show love toward them and keep praying.
(9There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11For God does not show favoritism.)
Maybe I am just stupid but why the Jew first then the gentile? Does the Jew have a harder life to lead? All I know is try and do good every breath of your life. God knows we are not perfect, go to Him and pray for help in the areas you struggle. God loves us and He will help us.
The Jews and the Law
(17Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and brag about your relationship to God; 18if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law; 19if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, 20an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, because you have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth— 21you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? 22You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23You who brag about the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? 24As it is written: "God's name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."[b])
Try very....Very hard to Honor God in all you do.

Happy Easter!
Caylin loves posing for the camera!
I love my "prince" Daddy!
The girls!
Caylin took this picture of us! Happy Easter! Our Lord has Risen! Our family celebrated Easter by going to church and spending time with family. Caylin had a few visits from the Easter bunny. The Easter bunny stopped at our house, Grandma's house, and Grammy and Pa Pa's house. This girl has enough candy to last until Halloween! Her favorite gift was "noculars". Now she can explore like Dora. She even had to sleep with them last night.

Last two Sundays
Church has been Awesome the last two Sundays. Last weekend was youth Sunday and I enjoyed the message, video clip to get us going, and also the music. The youth group did an excellent job! I have been to other churches where the youth does the music and it is more for me just like our youth did that Sunday.
March 23 - Easter Sunday
Are we going to recognize each other in heaven, and, if we do, will we feel sad when we do not see some of our family and friends there? I loved the way John pulled out scruiptures from the Bible and told us how we would recognize each other. Also how we will always be happy in heaven. I also loved the rest of his message. My brother discussed many other topics the rest of the day, I love that quality of my brothers. When we get together it helps me to think more about the bible and helps prepare uas for the future.
Thank you Lord for an awesome day!

Romans Chapter 1
Paul writes this book in the spring of 57 AD. In this first Chapter Paul made it clear we should Love God and His Son Jesus Christ:
(3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life [a] was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power [b] by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to faith and obedience for his name's sake. 6 And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ. )
Paul is writing to everyone no one excluded.
Starting in verse 11 Paul wants us to come together so we can help each other.
(11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith. 13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.)
I would be willing to help out each of you, I need you.
Next heading Paul titles:
God's Wrath Against Sinful Humanity
Paul writes how we know what is wrong but we do sinful acts anyway.
(18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of human beings who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.)
(32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.)
Paul then continues to write on how we also get others involved in doing sinful things as well and how they also approve them.
JC'S Points to Ponder:
God is talking to everyone through what Paul writes. I feel God is telling me to write to you. I want to let you know that God is real and without Him I can't live. Accepting Jesus is the only way to Heaven as Paul tells us and I am in agreement with Paul:
(3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life [a] was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power [b] by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to faith and obedience for his name's sake.)
Next point: We need each others accountability to live for HIM(Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit).
Last point: No excuses, we know from what Paul writes the more we continue in our sins the worse it gets. Don't continue to be lost forever, confess your sins to God and accept His Son Jesus Christ The Lord. I get into struggles with sin and I confess my sins to God and try hard not to do them again.

The Book Of Romans
The Content of the Book of Romans.
Paul begins by surveying the spiritual condition of all people. He finds Jews and Gentiles alike to be sinners and in need of salvation. That salvation has been provided by God through Jesus Christ and his redemptive work on the cross. It is a provision, however, that must be received by faith—a principle by which God has always dealt with humankind, as the example of Abraham shows. Since salvation is only the beginning of Christian experience, Paul moves on to show how believers are freed from sin, law and death—a provision made possible by their union with Christ in both death and resurrection and by the indwelling presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Paul then shows that Israel too, though presently in a state of unbelief, has a place in God’s sovereign redemptive plan. Now she consists of only a remnant, allowing for the conversion of the Gentiles, but the time will come when “all Israel will be saved” (11:26; see note there). The letter concludes with an appeal to the readers to work out their Christian faith in practical ways, both in the church and in the world. None of Paul’s other letters states so profoundly the content of the gospel and its implications for both the present and the future.

Jesus Name Above All Names
This is about 70 miles from Amarillo outside of town called Groom TX. (This must have been an awesome labor of love.) This picture of the crucifixion of Christ Sculptured from metal was made by a man near Amarillo, Texas. The man did this out of the kindness of his heart. Someone donated the land On which to erect them.Who is Jesus?
HE IS JESUS
WHO IS HE?
IN CHEMISTRY, HE TURNED WATER TO WINE.
IN BIOLOGY, HE WAS BORN WITHOUT THE NORMAL CONCEPTION;
IN PHYSICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW OF GRAVITY WHEN HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN;
IN ECONOMICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURN BY FEEDING 5000 MEN WITH TWO FISHES & 5 LOAVES OF BREAD;
IN MEDICINE, HE CURED THE SICK AND THE BLIND WITHOUT ADMINISTERING A SINGLE DOSE OF DRUGS,
IN HISTORY, HE IS THE BEGINNING AND THE END;
IN GOVERNMENT, HE SAID THAT HE SHALL BE CALLED WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, PRINCE OF PEACE;
IN RELIGION, HE SAID NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH HIM;
SO WHO IS HE?
HE IS JESUS!
The Greatest Man in History
Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master.
Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.
He had no army, yet kings feared Him..
He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.
He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.
He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.
I feel honored to serve such a Leader who loves us!

Bunny Trail

On Saturday we went to the Bunny Trail at OMS. (What a wonderful new school building. Our school district will also be building a new elementary and high school in the coming few years. Caylin will attend all new schools! ) This is an event where businesses throughout the community set up tables and hand out goodies to the kiddos and information about their business to adults. Caylin had a basket full of stuff!
Caylin's favorite part is playing on all the inflatables in the gym. She climbed up a slide that was almost touching the gym ceiling. She was all excited about sliding down the big slide. I don't know if she really liked coming down by the look on her face. She went on the obstacle course inflatable where she had to climb up a "rock wall" and slide down the slide to the finish. She is a go getter. She will try most things.
Easter Egg Hunt at OCC

Caylin went to the Easter Egg Hunt at church Saturday night. Caylin is in the toddler to age 3 group. They were each allowed to hunt for 52 eggs. Before Caylin would put an egg in her basket she shook the egg. She knew that if there was a sound there was something good inside, like candy. I asked Jeremy if he taught her to do that and he said no. She is too smart! We might (probably will) have our hands full when she is a teenager.

Happy 33rd Birthday!
Snow, Snow, and More Ohio Snow

We are about one week away from spring and this past weekend it snowed over a foot and a half at least. The snow is beautiful, but I like green grass and flowers so much better!
Caylin helped Daddy make a snowman. He needed a little push to keep that ball moving. It was too cute! Caylin is such a good helper! Pictures are worth a thousand words!

Yummy Cupcakes

Caylin, Grammy, and I went to downtown Charleston to sight see. We parked our car along the river and walked about 5 miles. We walked up King Street and saw lots of nice shopping venues. The one place we wanted to go was the cupcake store. The place has 9 flavors of cupcakes daily. The icing is about 2 inches tall. One cupcake is 2.75, not cheap. I had the red velvet, Caylin had chocolate, and Grammy had pumpkin. They were all scrumptious!
We decided to take Jeremy and Pa Pa on Sunday to get cupcakes. They were so excited. I think their mouths were watering just thinking about it. When we got to the store, it was closed! We were all disappointed, even Caylin was sad! Here is a link to the website www.freshcupcakes.com . If you are ever in Charleston this is a must go to place. So Yummy!
Fun Times at the Beach

Ha, Ha, Daddy! We know how to post to your blog too!
We had a great time when we went to Charleston! We went to Isle of the Palms a couple of times when we were gone. Caylin loves the beach as well as Jeremy and I. Caylin squeels, "The beach, the beach!" She even put her feet into the icy cold ocean. It was 76 degrees out, but the water was freezing.

Arnold Classic

March 2nd race for $10,000 dollars is what we were told in Septmber of 2007. I was told to pray for good weather and that is just what happened. The Lord knew I needed some motivation to lose my annual 30 pounds of winter fat. Well I wish I would have listened to Him. I knew I was going to be in a hurt box for this race. Yes this was my first race of the year and lets just hope it is my last race of crushing the pedals with my 200+ pound body. 2 weeks before the race I had put in less than 45 hours since the end of October, and I was all of a sudden praying for a winter strom like in the good old days, when you built snow forts 12 feet tall and tunnels that lasted from the front yard to the back yard.
God had something else in mind. He knows that I am weak and that I still have a hard time realizing He creates miracles in us all. He wants me to get it through my thick skull that I can do it if I focus on Him. Well March 2nd 2008 was another miracle day for me. I Felt so much better than the week before. The week before I went to SC and put in 9.5 hours in 3 days. That was more hours than I put in since the 2nd weekend of January. The Lord had helped me get through SC training camp and motived me to get on the trainer like my wife told me to do since the new year,God has tried for years and He works through others. She was right I can get on the trainer for at least a 1/2 hour each night and that is better than nothing.
So my legs Felt good for the race and I wish it would have been an afternoon race cause it was 18 degress warmer but it was still a warm 37 degrees. The wind was blowing pretty steady on the back stretch. The course was a little technical for only having four turns. Lots of unmarked pots holes and manholes beat up the bikes pretty good. Well not my bike, that Felt is solid and handles with ease. For this bike being 15.7 pounds it sure is smooth to handle. Since I have done one crit I can now say that this bike truly is the best bike I have been on. Felt has also improved there technology by creating a sprinters bike as well. I have the FC Felt which is the same as the F2. I have to say I can't wait to ride the F1 sprinters bike because this FC is the best sprinters bike out there!
My Dad told me he got video of Arnold and I thought that was awesome. I just missed getting a glance of the Governor. I warmed up and the bike wasn't shifting right so I just made sure it would drop to my 11 before the race started. At the line I took notice of the stitches on my front tire and thought for sure I would have a flat. My teammates looked like they were all ready. Even though they said Dave wasn't coming I still looked for him at the line, wondering if we had to help him pin his number on or tighten his helmet. He always puts his gloves on during the race. It doesn't matter if we are at Bike Jam or the local races. He has even had to sprint for a couple of miles cause we already started the race.
Anthony gets today's illegal start award, both feet clipped in and I wasn't going to say anything he was in front of me. I looked down again and noticed I was in the little chain ring as we took off. Best start I have had in awhile but I backed it down cause I didn't wan to burn all my matches, to late. Should have though cause Kirk went early and no one was with him. Bob Martin went to the front that I took notice of and pulled him back with the help of Andy's and one of Jared's teammates. I tried some stupid stuff early and didn't learn from my mistakes from the past. Jared went up to Kirk while I was still catching my breath from a couple stupid attempts, you don't know until you try several times. Then I got lucky, after I pulled for a hard 1/2 a lap with a group of 8 just in front of the field. When the field caught us Dirk started to take off while I was on his wheel. Dirk's team yelled at him and as he pulled over I took off with Rolf on my wheel into the headwind.
Rolf was so strong and I couldn't help him to bridge up to the front two, Kirk and Jared. We were at 6 seconds for a long time and I Felt like quiting so I told Rolf. Rolf took over for a mile or a little more and the field was on our heals for the longest time. Since Rolf thought we could stay away I didn't give up. It seemed like every time I turned around Roadhouse was on the front. I was wondering what Roadhouse was doing cause they have all these awesome riders and no one went with Jared and no one went with Rolf and I. I determined it was early and no one was in shape, sort of like myself. Then Roadhouse sent Dirk up to us and it appeared he was in no mans land for awhile. Dirk sat on us for over 5 miles and decided to attack Rolf and I with two laps to go. Thanks to my teammates the field was no where close now.
So with two laps to go Dirk takes off and of course he wasn't going to work with Rolf and I because his teammate Kirk was going to win the race right? I knew Jared could sprint and if Jared didn't put himself into the red I knew he would have a good chance of victory. Well once Dirk went I thought I was done. Rolf couldn't get Dirk's wheel and I was already thinking 5th place is awesome so I wanted to give up. Then I thought about all the fans cheering for me everytime I passed the start finish line the whole race. It seemed like everyone knew I was out of shape looking 30 pounds overweight and struggling the whole race, they were right. If it wasn't for all the fans, my teammates, and family I would have looked back and sat up trying to catch my breath again. Rolf caught Dirk in the head wind, and I knew that if I didn't catch them soon it was all over.
Somehow, someway,(miracle) I caught them both right at the start finish with one to go hoping, praying they would not attack. As I went by the start finish Dad yelled sit on their wheel and I did. Rolf lead the way but the speed dropped tremendously, Praise the Lord! My legs actually Felt good now, probably the best they Felt all day, which makes a lot of since. I kept thinking when do I go, when do I go, as Rolf was trying to get Dirk to come to the front. Dirk was so occupied with Rolf's wheel he had no idea when I was going to go. I think Rolf and Dirk's wheels touched four times in 200 meters in that head wind.
Well we were getting close to the 2nd to last turn and I wanted to be in the lead into the last turn cause my last crit in 2007 was not a good one. I waited till one more erratic move from Rolf right before the 2nd to last turn. Getting close now you better go....., go, go, go, wait.....now go. I almost clipped both Dirk and Rolf on the outside when I went, not really but when you have more room you should use it. Now it is time to see how my new bike works. Every little part of the bike was being flexed to the core as I am using every muscle in my body. Oh no a little strain in my left calf, sheww.... it's ok keep going harder.... faster. Faster then this their going to catch you. Ok slow down last turn.... you don't want to lose your cookies in the last turn Cookie Monster. Not that slow! Now push it harder, come on is that all you got GO!!! Don't finish till you cross the line GO!!! Yes..... Thank you Jesus!
Homemade Cookin!!!
Going to SC for cycling was well worth the trip. As soon as we got there we took Caylin to the beach, even though it was raining. She was so excited, she kept saying were going to beach! Then Dad and I were dropped off by my Mom, Wife, and Daughter. Dad and I rode out in the rain for over an hour and I thought I would get cold, but with the temps close to 60 I even hosed down all the bikes with water after the ride. That night RGF, The Fernandez's, The Grimm's all went out to eat Seafood, Yummy! I couldn't wait for that! The Seafood was very good.
Saturday we rode for 3 hours mid day and it was a nice 76 degrees. After Dad and I rode back to the hotel we took Caylin to the beach and played for over an hour. Wonderful day thank you Lord. Well after that the day wasn't over yet Dad and I get back on the bikes again and rode a hard two hours. I bonked and thanks to Bob and Busa I could start to get my eye sight back. Just kidding it wasn't that bad. When we finished my Mom, Wife, and Caylin all came over to the Fernandez's for Homemade Lasagna!!!!!!!!!!! Mrs. Fernandez cooked the best Lasagna ever!!! I had one whole plate and a half a plate of Lasagna. The Pieces of Homemade Lasagna were Enormous!!! Did I mention it was the best tasting Lasagna ever!!!!! Ok I am definitely bragging now. The sizes were at least 7 inches long 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep. She feed all 14 of us what a wonderful woman. I am so blessed to have been invited to there home. Thank you Fernandez's.
The next morning we rode for 3 hours and again beautiful weather. No traffic smooth roads and I rode myself into the ground so hard that I didn't want to ride again that night. We all dicide to hook up at the bike store in downtown Charlestown. They had Mr. Fernandez Picture frames of races that he won from major races in the shop. How cool is that! We said our good bye's and thanked the Fernandez family for such a great weekend and we missed them as soon as we left.
Later that day we saw alot of historic sights in Charleston and played at the beach with Caylin. Some very memorible times and thanks to Dad we have video of it and pics. That night we had all you can eat Seafood at Giligan's and that is also a great place, but nothing like Homemade Lasagna from Polo's Mom.

Racing
This weekend I will be racing my first race of the year and I am not looking forward to it. This will give me some motivation to work hard in the next two months to come. I feel like I am way ahead of last year, but that is mainly because I didn't start riding till the end of March. The Felt bike is totally Awesome this is by far the best bike all around that I have had a chance to ride on.
Our uniforms are also Awesome I like everything about them. They have by far the best shorts made by any one out there. If I would have know we were going to have that much yellow on our uniforms I would have decked my bike out in yellow. Since my bike is supporting white for now I think it will stand out from the rest in the field. I may not do another race until April but we will see after this first one.
My teammates that I have met are the best we all get along really good. I am so glad to be back with this group of guys. I have had great friends with other teams in recent years and friendships that last a lifetime. Orrville was my first team in 2002 and Team Akron was in 2003. Savage Hill was in 2004-2006 with 2006 merging with A&F and Team GodSpeed in 2007 along with RGF. I have learned so much in these past years and have a great understanding what it takes to run a Team. I am so blessed to have raced for so many different teams. I know that this year will be one of the best years of racing and I look forward to this season.
RGF has several guys that were on that team then and are still on this team today. So it has been one of those Orrville family feel type of team. I have been a club member with Orrville every year and the Orrville bike shop is the best bike shop. Roger Amstutz is the owner of Orrville Cycling and Fitness and if anyone knows Roger they know he has a love for riding bikes and knows it is the best way to enjoy exercise. Roger is honest, listens, learns, informs, and loves everyone. Roger is one of a kind. I look forward to growing friendships with all the RGF team members and continue the ones that have been for years.

Record Day

Perfect conditions for riding in SC, I wish I could stay longer. My legs felt fine other than soreness behind my left outside knee and my right inside part of my knee. Both behind the knees. All last night they were uncomfortable and until the ride. I started to loosen them up and they felt better. So I decided since this was my last day in 60 plus weather till June I better go hard for awhile. I still am in shock from my efforts today.

Sunny and 76!!!!!!!

Shorts and short sleeves today, that won't happen till June in Ohio. Great morning ride for 3 hrs and then 2 hrs in a short sleeve skinsuit. I had to show everyone how big I was in the skinsuit and I told then this was as big as I will be. Well no one wanted to see me so they made me hurt the 2nd ride. Thanks to Bob, Martin that is. We had 4 Bob's on the ride, quite interesting. Plow gave me his gu and then he bonked, Goeff took one of his gu's as well so we did a good job of making him hurt, which he needed cause he was so strong. Then Einstein gave me his gatorade but he was to strong to bonk, I tried. I felt very happy with todays rides and couldn't believe my efforts. I may be hooked on this Power tap stuff, now for some money to buy it from Dad. This was also the night Mrs. Fernandez spoiled us all with a meal at the Fernandez's. Thank you all so very much.
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Fernandez

Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Fernandez for a great time!
Instead of 6 inches of snow, ice, and very cold temps, we spent a very wonderful weekend in SC. The temps were perfect and weather was close to being perfect. The first day I just warmed my legs up. I spent 1:15 in the rain but it wasn't cold at all. The temp was 56 and after the ride I spent time getting all the bikes clean, had to take care of my teammates. I was in shorts that night with heat on the legs. Dad let me use his power tap all weekend to see if I liked what I saw. After the first night we all went out to eat. We all had so much fun meeting everyone and spending time talking about cycling.

I Am a father
I am a father.
I wonder if I am doing good.
I hear from others that I am.
I see a smile on her face.
I want her to love God more anyone or anything.
I am a father.
I pretend that she is a princess.
I feel that she is.
I touch her nose with my nose.
I worry she won't like that as she gets older.
I cry every time she hurts.
I am a father.
I understand that God made her.
I say lets pray together.
I dream for her to marry a prince.
I try not to think about it cause I just want to hold onto her forever.
I hope she will be happy and think of me always.
I am a father.
I wonder if I am doing good.
I hear from others that I am.
I see a smile on her face.
I want her to love God more anyone or anything.

I Am a son and husband
I am a son and husband.
I wonder if I am a good one.
I hear from others that I am.
I see how happy they are.
I want them to always be that way.
I am a son and husband.
I pretend that I know what they are thinking.
I feel I am doing my best.
I touch there hearts when I do something right.
I worry that I will hurt them.
I cry when they are hurting.
I am a son and husband.
I understand them more than others do.
I say things I regret ever saying to them.
I dream that I am perfect and won't hurt anyones feelings.
I try really hard at loving them.
I hope that they will always love me for who I am.
I am a son and husband.
More on the I Am Poem
Well I have to tell you the I Am Poem came from a very special friend that I would do anything for. He put this on his blog and I couldn't turn down his offer. I wish his family the best in all things. My wife has requested I do another one on a different subject now that I did the most important one. Her request was not one I thought she would say, it was a very selfless request that I will have to do. As for the next I Am Poem, it will be I Am a son and a husband. Then I will do I Am a father, I Am a cyclist, I Am a friend, and I Am a Sinner and a Disciple unless someone wants me to do something different. Shoot me a comment or e-mail and let me know if you did one like I did for Rish. Here is how it all started got to: http://rishfamily.blogspot.com/2008/02/i-am-poem.html

I AM Poem
I am a child of God.
I wonder what God looks like.
I hear of great things God has done.
I see beautiful things God has created.
I want to trust more in God.
I am a child of God.
I pretend God is beside me when I pray.
I feel God continues to change my life.
I touch things God has made.
I worry for people that don't know God.
I cry tears of joy when someone accepts God.
I am a child of God.
I understand that God loves us.
I say things to God that I wouldn't say to others.
I dream of things God would like me to do.
I try to tell others about God.
I hope I can help others go to God.
I am a child of God.

Do YOU Have A Question?
Time to do something
Ok this post should have been posted in October when I stopped riding my bike. I have rode my bike a total of 50 hours since then which is about 2 hrs a week. I had a week of 15 hrs in Dec. but nothing since. Last year I didn't start riding till the end of March and my first race was the RATL. This year I will really see how much it feels like to jump on the bike and just race. I always seem to get to 210 each winter but I know how to tackle that problem. I just don't like doing it year after year.
I have really been kicking myself around, knowing how much God would like me to have my body be more of a temple for Him. I have also enjoyed helping out at the Church each weekend, watching those kids have fun and learn more about basketball.
So now it is time to get down to business in the cycling sense. This is just a hobby for me and it is fun only when you don't wreck. I do it for a better reason than fun, I do it because God has given me a gift of racing or competing. In return I try and do my best to let others know about Jesus and how much He needs to be a part of all of our lives. Plus my wife told me to get on the bike so you know I am over weight and lazy. She will win and I will get on the bike Monday for an hour and then ride hard for 15 mins on tuesday during my two hour ride in the basement. That also means I will have set a record for most time on the bike in the basement in the last two years. In the fall of 2006 I didn't ride, and all of 2007 I rode 30 mins. So in 2008 things may be a lot different, but one thing is for sure I will be lighter than any year since i started racing in 2002.

Love others more than your self
Sometimes we just have no clue. Always try to be thoughtful of others. The bible says to love others more than your self it is time we start sharing it with others more.
Nicest Prayer I Have Heard In A Long Time...
Lord, Help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.
Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprhension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.
Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.
Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together.
Lord, remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.
If you send this to 5 others, then you have a chance to touch 5 lives.
Working for God on earth doesn't pay much......but His retirement plan is out of this world.

Give Life With Your Words
Before you read this I just want others to know, especially christians, how much I struggle with lifting others up. Why do we hurt the ones we love the most? The bible tells us to encourage one another, please forgive me Lord for I have not been a good encourager.
I know so many people that are great encouragers and I thank all of you that help me day by day. Everyone please read this and live by it, be an encourager today. It may save someones life.
Give Life With Your Words
by Jon Walker
Words kill, words give life; they?re either poison or fruit ? you choose. (Proverbs 18:21 MSG)
You have the power to kill or give life.
Yes, you, gentle reader ? a follower of Christ ? are capable of murder, and so am I. We can speak death with our words, or we can speak life.
Perhaps you?ve been on the other side of the killing kind of messages: ?You?re not smart enough. You?re not thin enough. You?re not fast enough. You?re not good enough. A real Christian wouldn?t think such a thing.?
In a world where people are beat up and put down, God gives you superhero power to punch through the negativity. You speak life to others when you say: ?You matter to me. I like you just the way you are. You?re human, anyone could think that. Your life counts. You were created for a purpose. God loves you, and you?re incredibly valuable to him.?
Your words may be the only encouraging thing some people hear in a day, or a week, or a month. You ? yes, you ? can become the voice of God?s grace in the lives of others, supporting, loving, helping, and encouraging with the words that flow from your mouth. (Romans 14:19b)
In the New Testament, the word ?encouragement? often means ?to come alongside.? We?re to come alongside one another, ?building each other up,? just as the Holy Encourager comes alongside us to teach us and remind us of the way of Jesus. (John 14:26)
We become encouragers when we stop looking down and start looking up (Colossians 3:2) ? the need and opportunity for encouragement is everywhere. ?Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us,? (Romans 15:2a MSG) and this ?will build them up.? (Romans 15:2b NLT)
So, how about it? Will you become today a consistent source of encouragement to those around you? It?s a choice on your part. You can lift a person?s spirit, change the atmosphere of your office, or lighten the burden of someone in your small group. The Bible says we should ?look for the best in each other, and always do your best to bring it out.? (1 Thessalonians 5:15b MSG)
What does this mean?
? Commit to encouragement ? Make a choice to build up the people around you. Fill your conversations with phrases like: ?I believe in you,? ?I?m grateful for you,? ?I see God using you,? ?I appreciate you,? and ?I?m glad you?re in my life.? The Bible says we should ?encourage one another and build each other up.? (1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV)
? Value others ? An encourager works hard at bringing the best out in others. Value people by understanding they are valuable to God. He encourages you in spite of the failings in your past; he believes in you in spite of those annoying, little things you excuse in yourself but criticize in others. J (Quite honestly, this thought compels me to give grace to others.)
? Be encouraged ? Encourage yourself, for ?there is good news of great joy for all people, and his name is Christ the Lord.? (Luke 2:8-10)

I'm In OCC
I Love our Church! The family is growing and I'm In OCC. John had got us started with a motto, I'm In OCC. From what I can remember a year ago we were to sign a board that said I will do my best to do this and that or anything to help our church family and community out. Well I haven't done much but I am improving in some ways. I pray that I will be more focused on what God wants me to do. I have been so out of focuse for a long time and continue to be but I try hard for Him everyday. Some days I just wish I could start over just like Groundhogs Day, the movie.
One thing that keeps me on track is the people I surround myself with. I can't do it with out them. God puts people in our lives so that we can stay strong and focused. John Mulpas had shared with us some facts about Redwoods.
The root system of the redwood tree is surprisingly shallow, especially given the great height the mature tree attains. There is no tap root and the other roots may reach no deeper than 6-12 feet. The major roots are about 1 inch in diameter, and they typically spread 50 to 80 feet. One way in which the trees are able to remain upright for millennia is by growing close together with other redwood trees, intermingling root systems. In the picture below a number of redwoods crowd together in a typical grove. Go to this link to see it;
http://www.shannontech.com/ParkVision/Redwood/Redwood2.html
So just like Redwoods we need to stay close to each others lives so we can work together to stay strong. Just like in cycling also if you have 3 teammates against one opponent the team should have a big advantage.
LUKE 10:27;
The expert 1 answered, “Love 2 the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, 3 and love your neighbor as yourself.” 4
